Lets talk Television...

As much as I enjoy our Television for entertainments sake, it is not so pleasing aesthetically.  I want to make our TV look less like the main event in our TV room...... Even though (lets be honest) it is the main event, the damn room is named after it and we spend just a wee bit of time staring at it!

This looks cool...
or this...
But instead we have this...
Can you say BORING! The TV looks a little too high on the wall to me, but I am assured by my husband, that it cant go any lower because that is where the plug is.  A TV hung lower will mean the plug and switch will show.  I also need to disguise the black aerial cord which is running down my wall..... They don't come in white, I have checked.  I will get this hidden away inside the wall one day, when we get an electrician in to change lights etc. but for now, I have to get creative.

Here is what I am thinking...
Clockwise from left 1)2)3)4) Buddha) Blue Jars)
Selection of art that I love! (not to scale).  Although lets face it, I wont be buying this specific art.  The day I can afford a Dale Frank, I would have died and gone to heaven!...

Which do you prefer, a gallery wall? Or tall lamps either side? Do you have any genius ideas for me?

  1. Love your ideas! I'm trying to fix up my tv wall right now too. It's been bare for too long and it's driving me crazy!

  2. Hey at least it's hung! What about spray painting a black cord cover white? I love a good gallery wall surrounding at tv.

  3. Here's my question - in the inspiration pics where are the cords? Do they have magic tv's that don't need them? Because I'd like those too. Seriously, I ALWAYS wonder this!

  4. I love the 2nd choice with the picture wall and the little buddha. I'm lucky that my husband is very handy with anything electrical. He cut a hole in the wall behind out wall-mounted tv and hid all the cords away out of sight - brilliant! x
